Transparent Process Management

Work Permit Application Process

Follow the official flow in the e-İzin system in five stages, with the key deadlines. We provide updates and file tracking at every stage.

A work permit in five stages

  1. Duration: Before applying

    Pre-Review & Criteria Analysis

The workplace’s Turkish headcount, capital/sales/export position (financial capacity) and the minimum gross salary for the foreigner’s job group are checked; any exceptions (such as the 03.08.2026 rules and sector exceptions) are assessed.

    Outputs of this stage

    • Employment and financial capacity analysis
    • Required document list
    • Wage multiplier determination
  2. Duration: Before applying

    Document Preparation

Documents are prepared in full: for the foreigner, the employment contract, a passport valid for at least 60 days, the diploma with its translation if needed, and a photo; for the employer, the trade registry gazette, balance sheet and income statement.

    Outputs of this stage

    • Employment contract
    • Translations (if needed)
    • Employer documents (registry gazette, balance sheet, income statement)
  3. Duration: Application day

    e-İzin Application

The application is made on behalf of the employer through e-Devlet in the e-İzin system (with the 16-digit reference number for overseas applications); documents are uploaded electronically.

    Outputs of this stage

    • Electronic application
    • List of uploaded documents
    • Application completion notice
  4. Duration: 30 days

    Ministry Review

The Ministry concludes the application within 30 days if the information and documents are complete. If additional information or documents are requested, the period starts from the date they are uploaded to the system.

    Outputs of this stage

    • Process tracking
    • Answering requests for additional documents
    • Decision notification
  5. Duration: 30 days from the payment notification

    Fee Payment and Card Delivery

After approval, the fee and valuable paper charge are paid through the Digital Tax Office; if they are not paid within 30 days, the application is refused. The work permit card is sent to the workplace address by PTT Cargo.

    Outputs of this stage

    • Fee payment tracking
    • Work permit card
    • Guidance for the social security notification

  • Continuing to work while an extension is reviewed

    Deadline
    At most 90 days
  • Starting work after a domestic application

    Deadline

Common Causes of Delay and Refusal

Missing or incorrect documents and requests for additional information extend the process (the 30-day period restarts from the date the requested items are uploaded). Not paying the fee within 30 days leads to refusal. Failing to meet the employment, financial capacity and wage criteria is also a ground for refusal. We complete these checks before the file is entered into the system.
